Jung Jae Young is a South Korean film, TV, and theater actor. After graduating from the theater department at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, he began his career with minor roles both in film and on stage. His primary focus at the time was playwright and director Jang Jin's works.

His breakthrough role was in Jang Jin's 2001 film Guns and Talks. The peak of this stage in his career was his role in the 2003 box office hit Silmido, a role that won him the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

While continuing to perform in films where he broadened the variety of characters he took on, in 2015, Jung made his television drama debut with the role of Jin Sang Pil in the political drama "Assembly". His works have earned him awards in Korea and abroad including Best Leading Actor at Blue Dragon Film Awards, two Grand Prize Awards for Film at the Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards, and Best Actor at the Baeksang Arts Awards, the Grand Bell (Daejong) Awards, the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland, and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia.
