On April 2, Sandara Park attended the press conference for new variety show “Stage K” along with producing directors Kim No Eun and Kim Hak Min, as well as Jun Hyun Moo, g.o.d’s Park Joon Hyung, SECHSKIES’s Eun Ji Won, and former Wonder Girls member Yubin.
“Stage K” is a K-pop challenge variety show about people around the world competing for a chance to be on the same stage with their K-pop stars for the performance of their dreams.
Sandara Park will appear on the program as a “K-leader” along with Park Joon Hyung, Eun Ji Won, and Yubin. A “K-leader” will participate in the show as a pioneer of hallyu and give heartwarming advice to junior artists who came to Korea to pursue the stage of their dreams.
Sandara Park said, “I think it’s the stage of the dreams of not just ‘Stage K’ challengers, but also for K-pop singers as well. When I explained the program to juniors, they all said that they also wanted to appear on the show. I thought about how moving it would be to watch fans doing a cover of my song or dance. I’m also personally looking forward to the filming day.”
She continued, “I heard that there were many challengers who auditioned with 2NE1 songs. When I heard that, I thought, ‘Will 2NE1 be able to reunite after a long time?’ which is my personal hope.”
About this, PD Kim Hak Min said, “Just like how all of you are curious and want this, we also want appearances from dream stars from K-leader’s groups and it’s a combination of people we’re also dreaming of. We’re positively considering this. If everyone’s hopes can be expressed, then I think that we may be able to see the competition of our dreams.”
“Stage K” will premiere on April 7 at 9 p.m. KST.
