Marry My Husband 2024 K Drama Episode 6

Jan 17, 2024

Marry My Husband Episode 6 begins with Ji-hyuk dropping Ji-won off outside her house when he suddenly collapses. Elsewhere, Su-min comes across Min-hwan on the side of the road and comforts him. Ji-hyuk wakes up at a hospital with Ji-won by his side.

He’s told he collapsed because of stress but ends up worrying more about Ji-won, who was getting a stomach ache before. She assures him she’s already had a CT scan which makes Ji-hyuk wonder what she knows.

Back on the streetside, Min-hwan leans in to kiss Su-min, who pushes him away and pretends to be upset. They get in a taxi and head to Su-min’s house. Outside the hospital, Ji-hyuk reiterates that he likes Ji-won but will never do anything she doesn’t want him to. But he does emphasize that he’s a good person before they go their separate ways.

The next morning, Ji-won wakes up not having slept properly. Eun-ho brings her coffee before work starts and Ji-hyuk sees them. Min-hwan enters the office in a bad mood. When he’s taking a smoke break, Ji-hyuk twists Min-hwan’s arm and threatens him to not lay a finger on Ji-won again. Later, Ji-won speaks to Min-hwan and asks him if he went home the previous night. A flashback shows that Su-min kissed him on the cheek before going home.

When Manager Gyeong-uk tells Ji-won to join him for lunch, she takes the opportunity to tell Su-min and Min-hwan to have lunch together. She can already tell that something is brewing in between them. During the meal with the manager and Joo-ran, Ji-won realises that he’s going to take credit for her meal kit idea.

When she disagrees with his ideas for the proposal, he takes her off the team but keeps Su-min on. Su-min herself is at a fancy restaurant with Min-hwan and both are slowly falling for the other.

At the other restaurant, Ji-won has left. Joo-ran realises that the manager instigated Ji-won on purpose so she could be kicked off, thus leaving space for his name and that of Director Wang Heung-in, who is a distant relative of his.

At the very same director’s office, Heung-in tells Ji-hyuk about Manager Gyeong-uk’s meal kit idea. He recognises it as Ji-won’s idea and asks her to meet him that night. She agrees and he ends up taking her to his friend’s taekwondo training centre. Together, he and his friends train her to fight and she learns how to flip people over her shoulder.

The next day, Ji-won comes to work with renewed fervour. She gives Gyeong-uk an edited proposal and he tells her to integrate it with the original one. Then he’ll consider adding her name to it again.

Ji-won then shares a cheesecake with Hui-yeon that Eun-ho sent her. He calls Ji-won and tells her he baked it himself, which makes Hui-yeon conclude that he likes Ji-won. They then talk about Gyeong-uk and Ji-won says she’s applying the rules of Judo to the situation. Meanwhile, Su-min speaks to Joo-ran and tries to cosy up with her.

When they all return to work, Joo-ran and Su-min tell Ji-won to share her edited proposal with them. She also gives them a marketing idea that uses Director Wang to advertise the meal kits. The idea goes ahead and a montage shows the meal kit proposal coming to life, without Ji-won’s name attached to it.

It’s a huge success and Gyeong-uk takes credit for thinking of using Wang Heung-in as the campaign’s face. But Ji-won knows Director Wang is going to soon go on a trip where a video of him mistreating an airline staff member will go viral. She planned this all along.

One night, Min-hwan and Su-min buy chicken to eat with Ji-won but she claims to have a meeting outside and leaves them to it. Instead, she makes a call to Director Wang, who has just gotten on the plane, and tells him she’s going to complain about being left out of the proposal. The call puts Director Wang in a bad mood and as expected, he mistreats an air hostess and another staff manager. Somebody takes a video of him doing so.

The video leaks. The meal kit product goes down the drain. Joo-ran notices that Director Wang mentions Ji-won’s name in one of the videos. Ji-won herself is enjoying watching the videos on the office rooftop when Ji-hyuk turns up. He tells her that Wang will be dismissed and Gyeong-uk will be disciplined.

When she drops her phone, Ji-hyuk sees that she’s listening to BTS. They discuss the BTS songs Dynamite and Spring Day, both of which were released after 2013. It hits them both that the other knows about the future at the end of Marry My Husband Episode 6.

The Episode Review

Marry My Husband Episode 6 really dives into the meal kit debacle. It’s on the smaller scale of things and coupled with Min-hwan and Su-min’s incredibly slow gravitation towards each other, the episode’s pace does feel a bit dragged. However, the episode ends with a bang as Ji-won’s revenge finds its mark.

After all the build-up, it is truly satisfying to see her strike her opponents. Hui-yeon remains a sweet friend but Joo-ran is now on the fence. Will she back Ji-won or let Su-min brainwash her?

Meanwhile, Ji-hyuk’s support for Ji-won continues to be endearing. There are moments when Na In-woo’s facial expressions seem one-note, however, Ji-hyuk’s actions keep things interesting. It is amusing to watch him train Ji-won in fighting and I won’t be surprised if he was the one shooting the video of Wang Heung-in on the flight.

The episode’s conclusion is a truly exciting note to end on. And using BTS songs for the reveal is a fun way to go about it that a lot of K-drama and K-pop fans will appreciate. It seems early for Ji-won and Ji-hyuk to reveal their respective truths to each other but this decision also stops the story from feeling monotonous. Now that they know, it will be intriguing to see how they go ahead with Ji-won’s revenge.
