ATTRAKT’s CEO Cleared Of Charges On Case Filed By Former FIFTY FIFTY Members

The police has decided not to forward the complaint filed against the CEO of ATTRAKT to the prosecution.

On March 11, a representative of ATTRAKT announced, “We recently received a notice from the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul stating that they decided not to transfer the case of breach of trust filed by former FIFTY FIFTY members Saena, Sio, and Aran [with no charges].” They added, “We will hold those who deceived the members, who do not understand the accounting principles of corporate funds, and encouraged them to file a complaint accountable for their actions of tampering (contacting before the exclusive contract expires) until the end.”

Previously in August of last year, FIFTY FIFTY’s legal representative—the law firm Barun—officially announced that the group filed a criminal complaint against Jeon Hong Joon for “violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes (breach of trust).” The members claimed at the time that the CEO unfairly used the group’s music and album profits to repay the advance payment debt of StarCrew Ent, an entertainment company that he owned.

FIFTY FIFTY debuted in November 2022, and their song “Cupid” won them global fame. In June 2023, FIFTY FIFTY filed an application for provisional disposition to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts with ATTRAKT. Amid legal disputes, one of the members, Keena, returned to ATTRAKT, and ATTRAKT notified the rest of the members Saena, Sio, and Aran of the termination of their exclusive contracts and filed civil suits against them.

FIFTY FIFTY is currently gearing up to make their comeback in June or July after reorganization of members centering around Keena.
