2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships To Feature Idols From SM, YG, And JYP For 1st Time In 8 Years

MBC’s “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships” has revealed part of its star-studded lineup for its upcoming Lunar New Year broadcast!
On December 11, MBC announced several of the idol groups who will be appearing on the next “Idol Star Athletics Championships.” Notably, the upcoming Lunar New Year special will mark the first time in eight years that SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment will all be participating.
According to MBC, this year’s lineup will include Super Junior, TWICE, SEVENTEEN, Red Velvet, MONSTA X, NCT 127, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, MOMOLAND, ASTRO, The Boyz, gugudan, Celeb Five, and Golden Child. Additionally, iKON will be making their first-ever “Idol Star Athletics Championships” appearance on the upcoming special.
iKON, SEVENTEEN, MONSTA X, NCT 127, ASTRO, The Boyz, Stray Kids, and Golden Child will be participating in the new penalty shootout event, while the lineup for the bowling event will include members of (G)I-DLE, MOMOLAND, gugudan, and Celeb Five, as well as Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Shindong.
The “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships” will air over the Korean Lunar New Year holiday, which runs from February 4 to February 6, 2019. As previously reported, filming for the special will kick off on January 7 at the Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon.
