Watch: Red Velvet’s Seulgi And Wendy Steal MCs’ Hearts In “Let’s Eat Dinner Together” Preview

Dec 7, 2018

Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy are in for a challenge on the upcoming episode of “Let’s Eat Dinner Together”!
The two idols will be appearing on the next episode of the JTBC variety show, which follows celebrities as they wander the streets of a specific neighborhood in search of someone who will let them into their home and offer them a meal.
In a newly released preview for next week’s show, the two Red Velvet members make a dramatic entrance, with Wendy channeling Edward Scissorhands as she pretends to cut Seulgi’s hair. After exchanging greetings with MCs Lee Kyung Kyu and Kang Ho Dong, they quickly manage to win both of them over with their cheerful personalities and infectious charm.
Kang Ho Dong happily points out that he has the same Korean zodiac sign as Seulgi and Wendy, who were both born in the Year of the Dog. He goes on to praise the idols’ beauty, pausing in front of a flower shop to playfully remark, “Oh my, I can’t tell where the flowers are!”
Even the typically aloof Lee Kyung Kyu is swayed by their charms. When Kang Ho Dong tells him that Seulgi is able to dance to almost any rhythm, Lee Kyung Kyu puts her freestyle skills to the test by singing various old songs on the spot. Soon afterwards, the MC is beaming with pride as he introduces his two guests to other people, boasting, “They even performed in Pyongyang [earlier this year].”
However, Wendy and Seulgi ultimately end up struggling to find someone who will invite them in for a meal. After they hopefully ring various doorbells at an apartment building, all of which go unanswered, a passing stranger informs them that many of the apartments are unoccupied. Someone at a different apartment building tells them, “Not many people are home at this time,” while another building turns out to be mostly offices. Seulgi woefully notes, “All of the lights are off.”
The two idols decide to change strategies, and they begin to approach random people on the street in the hopes of receiving an invitation. However, as happy as some of the passers-by are to see Red Velvet, many of them simply work in the neighborhood and live elsewhere, making them ineligible for Red Velvet’s mission to find dinner hosts in that specific neighborhood.
The preview ends on a cliffhanger, with Wendy exclaiming in despair, “What should we do? I think I might cry!”
To find out whether Seulgi and Wendy succeed in their quest, catch the next episode of “Let’s Eat Dinner Together” on December 12 at 11 p.m. KST!
