On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” masked singer “When Spring Comes” surprised the panel with her identity!

During the March 24 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants stepped up to challenge the reigning champion for the throne.

In the first match-up of Round 1, “Seoul Spring” and “When Spring Comes” went head-to-head with a duet version of 10cm’s beloved hit “What the Spring??”

After watching their performance, many of the celebrity panelists guessed that When Spring Comes was an older singer who had a lot of experience on stage. Although various panelists brought up the possibility of her being a trot singer or a musical actress, no one seemed to suspect that she might be an idol instead.

Later, after her opponent ultimately won the round, When Spring Comes remained on stage to perform a soulful cover of Red Velvet’s “Psycho.”

When she took her mask off halfway through the song to reveal her identity, the panel was shocked to discover that she was none other than Belle, the main vocalist of rookie girl group KISS OF LIFE.

As Belle’s father is the famous singer Shim Sin, host Kim Sung Joo asked her if he’d offered any advice before filming. Belle responded, “My father appeared on this show once in the past, so he explained to me how he soulfully pulled off a song [during his appearance].”

Kim Sung Joo jokingly responded, “So he boasted about himself?” and Belle replied with a laugh, “Yes, that’s right.”

Belle went on to share that she had writing credits on multiple songs, including PURPLE KISS’s “FIND YOU,” Kid Milli and dress’s “Kitty,” and LE SSERAFIM’s “UNFORGIVEN.”

Finally, when asked about her goals for the future, Belle replied, “I think I’d be really happy if there came a day when KISS OF LIFE became a genre of its own.”
