TXT Becomes 1st Foreign Artist In History To Top Oricon’s Weekly Album Chart With 8 Consecutive Albums

TXT has made Oricon history with their new Japanese album!

On January 11, Oricon officially announced that TXT had topped its weekly album chart with their second Japanese album “SWEET,” which racked up over 303,000 sales in Japan alone from July 3 to 9.

According to Oricon, TXT is the first foreign artist in history to top its weekly album chart with eight consecutive albums, continuing a perfect streak of No. 1 albums that began in 2020. The group has managed to reach No. 1 with “The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY,” “minisode 1: Blue Hour,” “Still Dreaming,” “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE,” “Chaotic Wonderland,” “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child,” “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION,” and now “SWEET.”

“SWEET”—which has also spent the past seven days at No. 1 on Oricon’s daily album chart—has now achieved TXT’s highest first-week sales in Japan to date, marking an impressive 160 percent increase from their previous record of approximately 185,000 (set by their latest Korean mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION”).

Additionally, “SWEET” debuted at No. 1 on Line Music’s weekly album chart in Japan after topping the daily album chart for the past six days in a row.

Congratulations to TXT on their historic achievement!
