"The Roundup : Punishment" Surpasses 1 Million Moviegoers In Just 2 Days + Achieves Korea's Biggest Box Office Opening Of 2024

“The Roundup : Punishment” is already making a huge splash in theaters!

The fourth and latest installment to Ma Dong Seok’s hit action film “The Outlaws,” “The Roundup : Punishment” tells the story of detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) fighting against villains Baek Chang Ki (Kim Moo Yeol), a former special forces mercenary who runs an online illegal gambling organization, and Jang Dong Chul (Lee Dong Hwi), an IT genius, through cooperating with Jang Yi Soo (Park Ji Hwan) and the Metropolitan Police Investigation Unit and Cyber Team.

As of April 25 at 9:30 a.m. KST, “The Roundup : Punishment” surpassed 1 million moviegoers in just two days since the film’s release. “The Roundup : Punishment” is the fastest film released in 2024 to reach this milestone.

On just the first day of its release, “The Roundup : Punishment” surpassed 820,000 moviegoers and ranked No. 1 in the Korean Box Office, recording the greatest box office opening of 2024. This is also the greatest box office opening recorded by “The Outlaws” series, with “The Roundup” (2022) achieving an opening box office score of 467,525 and “The Roundup : No Way Out” (2023) recording an opening box office score of 740,874.

“The Roundup : Punishment” also became the No. 4 biggest box office opening in Korean film history following “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days” (2018) with 1,246,603, “The Battle Ship Island” (2017) with 972,161, and “Train to Busan” (2016) with 872,673.
