Super Junior member Kyu-hyun, who participated in the "King of Mask" singing contest disguised as Genie from the movie "Aladdin," reveals his identity

Super Junior's Kyu-hyun paid his tribute to SHINee's Jong-hyun by singing his 2008 cover version of Alejandro Sanz's "Y Si Fuera Ella," also his first solo act, in the "King of Mask Singer," a song contest aired on MBC, Sept. 29.

Kyu-hyun disguised himself as Genie from the movie "Aladdin" and sang the tribute ballad. He took off his mask when he failed to win for the sixth week and talked about his memories of the late singer.

He shed tears, saying the two had a strong bond as they worked together in the ballad unit "S.M. The Ballad" in 2010. When Jong-hyun killed himself, on Dec. 18, 2017, the Super Junior member was in the military and had regretted not having reached out to him.
