SBS’s “Woori the Virgin” has unveiled new stills featuring Sung Hoon and Hong Ji Yoon!

“Woori the Virgin” is about a woman named Oh Woo Ri (Im Soo Hyang), who is strictly maintaining her chastity before marriage, but ends up pregnant after an accident occurs during a medical exam. It is a Korean remake of the American rom-com Jane the Virgin,” which is based on a Venezuelan telenovela.

Sung Hoon plays Raphael, the CEO of a large company, and Hong Ji Yoon stars as Lee Ma Ri, his wife who is completely fake except for her beautiful looks. Lee Ma Ri intentionally targeted Raphael in order to marry him, and she will do whatever it takes to keep him by her side despite his determination to get a divorce from her.

The newly released stills preview Raphael and Lee Ma Ri’s turbulent marriage life. The two are surrounded by a chilly atmosphere, and their expressions are stony with their own resolves. In one photo, Raphael looks like he has given up on everything, but Lee Ma Ri pretends not to notice anything is wrong. Another still depicts Raphael glaring at Lee Ma Ri as if he’s about to explode any moment, and Lee Ma Ri desperately struggles to keep their marriage intact.

The production team explained, “In the drama, Raphael and Lee Ma Ri are similar to each other because they appear glamorous and perfect, but they’ve both lived with deep wounds and lack of [love] since childhood. Sung Hoon and Hong Ji Yoon had a lot of discussions to perfectly express their three-dimensional characters. Please look forward to how the two actors will express the turbulent story that will occur in the beginning of the show.”

“Woori the Virgin” will premiere on May 9 at 10 p.m. KST.
