Steven Yeun Named Best Supporting Actor By The National Society Of Film Critics For “Burning”

On January 6, according to the Los Angeles Times, Steven Yeun was awarded Best Supporting Actor from the National Society of Film Critics for his performance in the Lee Chang Dong-directed film “Burning.”

“Burning” is a mystery-thriller based on Haruki Murakami’s short story “Barn Burning.” Steven Yeun portrays a man named Ben, a mysterious figure who appears in the lives of a part-time delivery man named Jong Soo (played by Yoo Ah In) and his childhood friend Hye Mi (played by Jeon Jong Seo).
“Burning” was named Best Foreign Language Film by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) and Toronto Film Critics Association and nominated for the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards.
It is also the first Korean film to make the shortlist for Best Foreign-Language Film at the Academy Awards. The final nominees will be announced on January 22, and the 91st Academy Awards will be held on February 24.
