“Squid Game” Star Lee Jung Jae Wins Best Male Performance At Independent Spirit Awards 2022

Lee Jung Jae has won another award for his starring turn in the smash hit series “Squid Game”!

On March 6 local time, the 37th Film Independent Spirit Awards were held in Santa Monica, California, honoring the best of independent film and television in 2021.

At this year’s ceremony, Lee Jung Jae won the award for Best Male Performance in a New Scripted Series, beating out fellow nominees Olly Alexander (“It’s a Sin”), Michael Greyeyes (“Rutherford Falls”), Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), and Ashley Thomas (“THEM: Covenant”).

Lee Jung Jae also recently made history at the 28th Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, where he became the first Korean actor ever to win Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series.
