On March 28, the singer-actress participated in an interview for her upcoming film “Memories of a Dead End.”
On the topic of Girls’ Generation’s comeback, Sooyoung said, “Nothing is concrete as of right now. However, everyone wants to. It’s not something that’s impossible. When I envision my future, it’s not of me standing alone. I think we’ll be continuing to hold concerts and that’s what I enjoy the most.”
“[The Girls’ Generation members] are my friends in real life,” she continued with a laugh. “Relationships are narrow and deep. When I saw the members at the screening, I thought that I had no regrets about that relationship. They’re members I’ve known for about 15 years. As women and as people who work, our emotions and ways we have grown overlap. It’s really fascinating. It’s because we endured those times together.”
Sooyoung said, “I talked with Tiffany until 1 a.m. yesterday. We talk about our concerns about work for about five to six hours. I like that I have a friend who I can talk to about my concerns. The members are like kindred spirits who can share my worries with.”
“Memories of a Dead End” is a film based on the book of the same name by Yoshimoto Banana. It’s about a Korean tourist named Yumi (played by Sooyoung) who travels to Nagoya to meet her boyfriend, and the story of what happens when she meets a café manager named Nishiyama (played by Tanaka Shunsuke) at the end of an alley. The film will premiere on April 4.
