Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum's Drama ''Encounter'' Premiered with Fantastic Viewership Ratings

tvN's new drama 'Encounter' starring Song Hyekyo and Park Bogum started off well. Very well. 

 

On November 28th, 'Encounter' premiered its first episode. During its premiere episode, the drama managed to record a stellar 8.7% in viewership ratings with a peak at 10.1%, according to Nielsen Korea. By this, the drama has now officially become the drama with the highest premiere viewership ratings among all tvN's Wednesday-Thursday dramas. The only other drama which has higher premiere viewership ratings is tvN's weekend drama 'Mr. Sunshine' which recorded 8.86% viewership ratings on its first episode.

 

As previously reported, the drama focuses its story on Cha Soohyun and Kim Jinhyuk. Cha Soohyun is a divorced mother who comes from a wealthy family. She was forced into an arranged marriage by her mother, who sacrificed Cha Soohyun's happiness for her husband's career. However, Cha Soohyun's wealthy husband soon leaves her and their child.

 

On the other hand, Kim Jinhyuk is an average man who works various part-time jobs while applying to various companies. After being rejected by multiple companies, he goes on a trip abroad where he meets a certain woman. Kim Jinhyuk is described as an innocent young man who knows how to find happiness in small things.
