See You in My 19th Life (2023) K Drama Episode 10

Jul 17, 2023

See You in My 19th Life episode 10 starts with Ji-eum and Seo-ha making their way to the bridge. Seo-ha is happy to get away from the city.

Ji-eum is delighted to tell Seo-ha more about her past lives. They get to the bridge and Seo-ha gifts her a jewelry set before asking her to be his girlfriend. Of course, Ji-eum makes him confess thrice before accepting his proposal.

They then happily walk around, take photos and generally have a great time until Ji-eum has a flashback of her first life. In the flashback, she sees herself stabbing Seo-ha and then getting hit by an arrow from behind.  She also has a flashback of being chased by some men. She is holding on to another person as she runs, but we don’t know who they are. Obviously, these things happened a thousand years ago, but they still have a considerable impact on her.

Remember, while they are at the bridge, Min-ki is in Ji-eum’s room holding the shaman bells, and Do-hyun can’t stop admiring the bridge photo with the fireworks. Lastly, Cho-won nearly has an accident while working.

Back at the bridge, Seo-ha holds Ji-eum to prevent her from falling forward. Ji-eum insists she’s fine, but he’s worried she’s coming down with something. They head to a restaurant, and Seo-ha feels they should go to the hospital. Ji-eum lies that she must have lost her breath temporarily because she choked. They have dinner and head over to their accommodation.

Upon arrival, Ji-eum teases Seo-ha and he so cutely falls for it every time. Seo-ha is a bit conservative and books a house with two rooms. Ji-eum is disappointed because she wants them to share one bed. They shower, pour themselves a glass of wine and try to relax.

Ji-eum checks the internet and sees some articles published regarding Seo-ha’s accident and MI Group. She gets jealous when she sees most comments are about how handsome Seo-ha is and people wondering if he is single.

Seo-ha apologizes for being unable to do more but Ji-eum tells him it is okay. Ultimately, he gets justice for Ju-won and Do-hyun’s dad and that is what matters. Ji-eum also thanks him for trying to protect her from the truth about Ban Hak-su.

Ji-eum was hurt when she found out that her current dad was the one who killed Ju-won. She finds comfort in Seo-ha’s gesture to protect her and remarks on how well he has grown. Seo-ha teases her back by saying he is older than her before giving her a sweet peck on the lips.

Elsewhere, Do-hyun seems lost in his thoughts. He keeps remembering Cho-won from their school days. Speaking of Cho-won, she is also lost in her sad thoughts as she walks home.

Back to Seo-ha and Ji-eum, they each retire to their bed, but a dream awakens Ji-eum. The dream is about her first life; this time she learns the name of the man who looks like Seo-ha. His name is Master Han-ya and he works at the shrine. She then sees herself stabbing Master Han-ya at the bridge.

She heads to the kitchen and makes a drink to calm her down. She also writes down the name she heard in her dream. She later goes to Seo-ha’s room and he wakes up when she touches his face. He lets her sleep in his bed; they kiss and cuddle.

Later in the night, Seo-ha wakes up to lovingly watch Ji-eum sleep. He also gets a message, probably from Do-hyun, telling him only one person is left. He replies that he will finish things up.

The next morning, Do-jin tries to cheer Do-hyun up by giving him herbal medicine. Do-jin notices that his brother is still out of it and is deeply heartbroken.

Elsewhere, Seo-ha and Ji-eum go on a date at the palace. Ji-eum jokes that Seo-ha might be able to learn about his past lives. Throughout the date, she shares some fun facts about her former life, and Seo-ha is fascinated. As usual, Ji-eum flirts with him and he ends up blushing. Seo-ha learns that she must have had a tough time because of her memories and comforts her.

At the end of the day, they drive back to Seoul and Seo-ha keeps getting calls from Ji-seok. Ji-seok wants him to attend a class reunion and receive a wedding invitation from one of their old classmates. Ji-eum notices that Seo-ha is not picking up the calls and asks why.

Seo-ha explains that he doesn’t wish to go because Ji-Seok and his friends bully Do-hyun. Seo-ha clarifies that he is the one sticking to Do-hyun, and Ji-eum argues that it is mutual.

As they talk, Ji-eum receives a call from Ae-gyeong but is surprised to hear Min-ki’s voice. Min-ki informs her that Ae-gyeong has been hospitalised, and Ji-eum quickly rushes to the hospital. She finds Ae-gyeong asleep and learns from Min-ki that she has been keeping her sickness a secret with his help.

Ji-eum spends the night with Ae-gyeong remembering her when she was a little kid. Ae-gyeong assures her that it is nothing serious. Ji-eum begs her to stick by her side and wants to get her the best doctors for her treatment.

In the meantime, Ji-seok calls Cho-won to remind her about the event, and she agrees to go. Once she arrives, Ji-seok tries to shoot his shot, but Cho-won keeps turning him down. Do-hyun also gets numerous calls from Ji-seok, so he decides to go and collect the wedding invitation on Seo-ha’s behalf.

As expected, Ji-seok acts like a spoilt brat once Do-hyun arrives. This leads to Do-hyun opting to leave as quickly as possible.

Cho-won gets pissed after seeing how her friends treat Do-hyun. She gets into it with Ji-seok when he claims she is too naive to see that Do-hyun is chasing her for money. She also leaves and tries to catch up with Do-hyun, but he is long gone. This incident helps her understand why Do-hyun is against them dating.

On the other side of town, Han-na and Min-ki meet. Han-na is preparing her goodbyes after learning about her first life. She is worried about Seo-ha, but Min-ki assures her that he will be fine and that he will tell Ji-eum the truth soon. He is hoping the Ae-gyeong situation will be a convincing sign for Ji-eum to believe him.

Feeling assured, Han-na inquires what her next step should be so she can be normal. She returns what looks like an old name tag to Min-ki, and he promises to tell her what to do and what will come afterwards.

After returning from the hospital, Seo-ha arrives home to find a box of documents outside his house. Before he can open it, he gets a call from Ji-eum. She thanks him for being with her at the hospital and he promises to help her if it gets too much. He notes he has experience from taking care of his sick mom.

The next morning, Do-hyun gives Seo-ha the wedding invitation and agrees that he will stop meeting with Ji-seok on behalf of Seo-ha. Later, Seo-ha meets with Ms Jang and shows her all the evidence in the box he found outside his house.

Ms Jang has been committing fraud and neglecting the hotel. She feels that she is owed a position in the hotel and claims she has done everything to protect it. Seo-ha points out that she stole the hotel from his dying mom and threatened his dad and uncle for her greedy means. He informs her that he will be taking legal action and leaves.

On his way out, he runs into his dad, who smiles at him. It turns out that Seo-ha already told his dad about his plans and they have convinced the board of directors to fire Ms Jang. Seo-ha is happy that he is finally done with setting things straight. He thinks that the box of evidence was from Do-hyun but Do-hyun insists he is not the one behind the gift.

Ms Jang tries to beg Mun Jeong-hun for mercy but he informs her the police are waiting outside and kicks her out. She keeps calm until she enters the lounge and sees the flowers Seo-ha’s mom loved. She throws them and causes a minor scene. Han-na watches gleefully from afar and is glad Seo-ha handled Ms Jang.

Meanwhile, Seo-ha leaves and gets flowers for Ji-eum. On his way to his girlfriend, Han-na hugs him from behind and says goodbye. This interaction surprises Seo-ha and he asks who she is. She gives him a turtle key chain and tells him it is a gift. She then quickly leaves, and Seo-ha has a flashback about telling his mom that he was probably a turtle in his former life.

Concurrently, Ji-eum takes care of Ae-gyeong at the hospital before returning home. She finds Min-ki is also home and tells him they will close the restaurant. She advises him to find another place to live, and Min-ki says that’s okay. He asks about Ae-gyeong’s condition and tells her she won’t get better. He explains that he has experience with what happens when people like them reconnect with loved ones from their past lives.

His words anger Ji-eum and he asks who he truly is and what he is after. He responds that he wants to help her before more people get hurt.

He clarifies that Ji-eum can only save her loved ones by finding out about her first life. Ji-eum is stunned that her decision to reunite with her loved ones might cause them harm. She agrees to use the shaman bells to learn more about her past life. She goes into her room and holds the shaman bells.

This time she sees Cho-won (Seol) and they seem to be close. She then sees them running away from Master Han-ya, who is after Seol to kill her as part of the ritual. Ji-eum tries to beg for Seol’s life, but Master Han-ya still kills her.

Outside, Seo-ha arrives and is directed by Min-ki to Ji-eum’s room. Min-ki refuses to tell him how they met before. Seo-ha finds Ji-eum in a deep trance crying for Seol while vowing to kill Master Han-ya. She opens her eyes, sees Seo-ha, and starts choking him while pushing him against the wall. Min-ki watches from outside and smiles.

Do-hyun was also in Ji-eum’s first life, as it turns out, but we don’t know who he was. In this current life, we see Do-hyun ringing a bell. It is possible that he is starting to have flashbacks of his past lives. We will have to tune in next week to find out though!

The Episode Review

The episode started slow but at some point, it felt like things were being rushed. Point in case Ms Jang’s situation. They handled her quite fast and we don’t even know if the police got to her.

There is also the Do-hyun’s storyline too. He and Cho-won showed up out of nowhere in Ji-eum’s first life. The last few scenes were too confusing, and we will need the backstory to fully understand what happened in Ji-eum’s first life.

We would also love to see what happens to Han-na. She might be making a mistake in trusting Min-ki. He comes off as suspicious, and we aren’t sure if he is helping or causing more trouble.
