SBS will be replacing its Monday-Tuesday dramas with variety shows

May 10, 2019

On May 10, a source from SBS stated, “SBS, which recently added its first Friday-Saturday drama ‘The Fiery Priest‘ to the program schedule, will no longer air miniseries at 10 p.m. on weekdays. SBS will become the first out of the three major terrestrial broadcasting stations to present a variety show that airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m.”

The source continued, “Until now, the 10 p.m. time slot on weekdays has been viewed as a competitive time slot for broadcasting stations as they each aired their main dramas. SBS decided to undergo innovative changes in its program schedule to reflect the changes in the public’s media consuming behaviors and secure viewership from various types of audience.”

According to the source, the upcoming Monday-Tuesday variety show will air two times a week and consist a total of 16 episodes alike the length of their original miniseries. Another source from SBS stated that Lee Seung Gi and Lee Seo Jin are currently negotiating final details regarding their appearances in the show.
