On April 9, Ilgan Sports reported that “Absolute Boyfriend” was chosen as SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama for May. “Vagabond” was reported to be scheduled as a Friday-Saturday drama for September, with “Missing” (literal title) as the Wednesday-Thursday drama for the same month.
Following this news, a source from SBS clarified, “‘Absolute Boyfriend’ is confirmed as the Wednesday-Thursday drama for May, but we are still reviewing the possibility of programming ‘Vagabond’ as the Friday-Saturday drama in September. Nothing is confirmed about the other dramas, and discussions are still ongoing.”
“Absolute Boyfriend,” starring Yeo Jin Goo, Girl’s Day’s Minah, and Hong Jong Hyun, is a romance drama based on a Japanese manga series of the same name by Watase Yuu. It tells the story of a special effects artist whose heart has hardened due to past scars, a humanoid robot designed to be her ideal type, and a top star. The drama has wrapped up filming and will be airing as the follow-up to “Big Issue” in May.
“Vagabond,” starring Lee Seung Gi, Suzy, and Shin Sung Rok, is a spy drama about a man trying to unveil the truth behind an airplane crash. It is reportedly aiming to finish filming within May and complete post-production to jointly premiere on SBS and Netflix in September.
“Missing” will be a crime thriller about a logical, yet odd investigator on a leave of absence joining forces with a sentimental special crimes investigator to solve a case of brutal murder that remains unsolved for 20 years. A case of disappearance becomes entwined with the murder case, and the investigators dig into the crimes to uncover the truth. It is unclear when the drama will be airing.
