Link: Eat Love Kill (링크: 먹고 사랑하라 죽이게) is a fantasy-drama series directed by Hong Jong-chan and starring Yeo Jin-goo and Mun Ka-young in lead roles. The series consists of 16 episodes and will be taking over tvN’s Monday and Tuesday 10.30 PM KST slot, previously occupied by Military Prosecutor Doberman. The series will air from June 06, 2022, to July 26, 2022. Eat Love Kill episode 8 has a runtime of 65 minutes and is titled The Children of Jiwha-dong.

No one got stabbed, as we get to see in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 8. Eun-jung is, in fact, not even Jin-geun’s sister – he was her sister’s boyfriend and from the first moment she met him, she had her reservation for him. More so because he told her not to search for her since she’s never coming back.

She tries to find him in any way possible, but it’s almost like she vanished into thin air – until she found him again. Back in the present, everyone congregates at Gye-hoon’s restaurant to kill Jin-geun, the police arrive to see the pandemonium and put an end to it.

As the police ask what the hell they just saw, Da-hyun tells them that Jin-geun has been stalking and harassing her and the others were just trying to protect her. With everyone against him, Jin-geun threatens Gye-hoon, asks him to not be arrogant, and leaves.

As everyone reels from the nighttime excitement, Eun-jung tells Da-hyun the truth about her involvement with Jin-geun. Da-hyun is left shocked, more so because, due to the lack of evidence, no one can really do anything. Anyway, they make up after discussing their misunderstandings and their camaraderie is really heartwarming to watch, even though danger is looming in the corner.

Also, shockingly and in a very sad moment, Eun-jung talks about finding her sister… well, whatever was left of it, from the wood. Remember that news report from an episode or two ago? Yep, that was her sister. Eun-jung and Da-hyun’s entire family sobs with the former and Gye-hoon cries as well at home, unable to control his emotions.

After Eun-jung goes to sleep, Da-hyun and Gye-hoon meet that night and he opens up about knowing Eun-jung’s backstory but having no time to tell her. He apologises but she reminds him that she doesn’t care anymore since it’s over between them. He forcefully promises that nothing will happen to him and asks her to eat with him.

Unfortunately, Da-hyun reiterates that it’s over between them and mentions giving her resignation the next day. It’s clear that Gye-hoon’s feelings are extremely hurt and he promises to think about it. The next morning, Eun-jung has a swell time getting entertained by Da-hyun and her eccentric family’s antics.

It’s a confusing time at the café, now that everyone knows everything. Eun-jung and Da-hyun volunteer to quit together, considering everything that has happened. However, Gye-hoon refuses to let either of them leave until their contracts are over. Gye-hoon’s offhanded caring attitude is rather sweet and infectious to watch.

However, his feelings seem to have tangled up and his resolve weakened after the events of the last few days. He tries to sift through these feelings and wonders if there is a point to it anymore while Da-hyun has a few beers with Min-jo, who asks her to report Jin-geun so that he can be punished.

She promises to do so as well as turn herself in. Meanwhile, Gye-hoon is worried sick about her at home, wondering where she is. They meet on the road and he admonishes her for being out so late while drunk and lays into her more. She, however, asks him why he cares whether she comes back home or not.

Gye-hoon mentions that he’d feel bad if something happened to her and confesses that he does like her. She, in turn, promises to never disappear. On the other hand, Min-jo goes to the station with a tip but isn’t taken seriously.

The next morning, Da-hyun rushes to the restaurant and in her rush, trips and falls over Won-tak whom Gye-hoon sees and is absolutely not happy with. Actually, he almost acts like a jealous schoolboy and pouts around her throughout the day.

However, the happy times are few and far between and right on cue, Eun-jung asks Da-hyun whether he has gone through Jin-geun’s social media page recently and asks her to do so as soon as possible. In it, she finds posts that talk about reuniting with her and remembers his comment about them playing in the alleys of Jiwha-dong.

Jin-geun, meanwhile, is searching through his old things in Link: Eat Love Kill episode 8. He finds a beat up gaming hand-held console and seems quite happy after having found it. On the other hand, Gye-hoon gets a call from Da-hyun and goes to pick her up at the library.

When he sees her running toward him, he almost looks like he’s already in love but that has to wait – Jin-geun might have lived in Jiwha-dong and she might have known him before! He tries to remember whether he knew him and suddenly realises who it could be.

He rushes with him to his place to find something that might clue them in and as he goes to his room, Da-hyun finds Gye-young’s room and the picture on her dresser reminds her of her relationship with Gye-young – something that she had clearly forgotten. As they go out again, Gye-hoon gets a message from someone that startles him but he doesn’t share it with Da-hyun.

As they reach the restaurant, he tells her that they had gone to school with Jin-geun and with someone else as well. Confused, she asks him what he’s talking about but he leaves her to wait and goes off. In the park, Won-tak and Jin-geun meet each other and look like they’re quite familiar. Meanwhile, going through the photos, Da-hyun realises that she has liked Gye-hoon since they were kids and that she, Gye-hoon, Jin-geun and Won-tak all grew up together.

Jin-geun tries to get Won-tak into confidence so that they can get rid of Gye-hoon. When Won-tak isn’t swayed, he tells him that he saw everything on the day Gye-young disappeared and that it’s all because of Gye-hoon that they are in such a predicament.

As realisation hits, Da-hyun calls Gye-hoon wondering whether he is meeting Jin-geun and Won-tak. She rushes to find him while Jin-geun taunts Gye-hoon about being too preoccupied to know that his sister was getting murdered. Gye-hoon asks him what he knows about that day and who took Gye-young but Jin-geun refuses to tell him anything until he begs at his feet.

As Da-hyun gets there to see three injured boys fresh out of a fist fight, we are transported to a moment where they are kids once again.

Ok, guys, I am intrigued. I want to know what happens, whether Gye-hoon and Da-hyun date and whether poor Eui-chan finally gets exonerated. There’s a lot of hurt and history in these people’s lives and it’s really sad to watch but also adds to the emotional bond that we have created with the characters.

I think Eun-jung’s twist was quite interested but sadly, it seems like she’s going to become a background character after this. Won-tak will probably become a more important character in the upcoming episodes.

Although it was somewhat apparent that all of these kids must’ve studied together at some point, it still seems very heavy when they finally do show it and what this means for the disappearance as a whole is also quite bleak. Who did kill Gye-young, then? I need to know right now!
