MBC’s “My Dearest” soared to a new all-time high in viewership ahead of its series finale!

On November 17, the historical romance drama earned its highest ratings yet for its penultimate episode, which continued the show’s reign as the most-watched program of any kind to air on Friday.

According to Nielsen Korea, “My Dearest” scored an average nationwide rating of 12.4 percent, marking the drama’s highest ratings to date during either Part 1 or Part 2.

“My Dearest” was also the most-watched show of Friday among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned an average rating of 3.7 percent.

Meanwhile, despite facing stiff competition from “My Dearest,” SBS’s “The Escape of the Seven”—which airs in the same time slot—enjoyed a significant increase in viewership for its Season 1 finale. The final episode of Season 1 scored an average nationwide rating of 6.6 percent, marking a 1.4 percent jump from its penultimate episode last week.

Season 2 of “The Escape of the Seven” will air in 2024, while “My Dearest” will air its 100-minute series finale on November 18 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
