Marry My Husband Episode 1 Recap

Spring is here and the sound of children playing can be heard, however, Kang Ji-won can only stay away from this happiness as she lies in the hospital. While her friend Jung Su-min accompanies her occasionally, Ji-won cannot remember the last time she felt happiness from the bottom of her heart.

Remembering how her days only got worse after getting married to Park Min-hwan, she is now stuck with a husband who is probably cheating on her. After her chemotherapy, the hospital informs her that she needs to pay her bills to continue treatment which shocks her as she did not expect her husband to be this unreliable.

She makes her way home to find her husband but comes across a mysterious taxi driver who reminds her of someone from the past. She soon makes her way home and finds her best friend Su-min in bed with her husband as they discuss what to do with her insurance money.

She understands they have planned an insurance scam and cannot digest the fact that the two people who were closest to her have cheated her like this. Having lived her life trying to struggle to please everyone gave her such an outcome that she cannot help but cry for herself and take her anger out on them.

Unfortunately, she cannot hold on for long and when pushed by Min-hwan, she crashes into a glass table and finally breathes her last. While the two people in the room continue to discuss what to do next and get out of having killed her, Ji-won finally closes her eyes.

However, this is not her end as her eyes soon open up to the scene of Min-hwan making his way to her while she stands in a familiar place. Seeing the man she came resent so much touching her fills her up with anger as Ji-won begins hitting him, shocking everyone at their workplace.

Right then, her superior Yoo Ji-hyeok intervenes and she finally realises that something is weird about her surroundings. Ji-won suddenly panics and looks around to find herself in a dream that took her back to 2013. Seeing herself 10 years in the past and facing the same people who betrayed her, Ji-won is shocked beyond sense.

Ji-hyeok sees that she is not in the right mind at the moment and takes her back home, he also hands over some cash and food to her before leaving. Ji-won is excited seeing the food that she couldn’t eat during her treatment and devours it before thinking back to what has happened.

While her situation confuses Ji-won, she sees the 10,000 Won note given to her by the mysterious cab driver and soon realises that it was none other than her father who gave her another chance at life. Ji-won is filled with tears, right then, Min-hwan arrives and takes her for dinner.

He soon begins discussing her behaviour at the office and wonders if it is because she is pregnant and advises her to get an abortion. Ji-won scoffs at his actions and tells him that she is not pregnant, instead she wants to break up with him. This shocks Min-hwan as anger takes over him and he tries to harm Ji-won.

She screams for help and the two are taken to the police who do nothing to help Ji-won and just rule this out as a lovers’ quarrel. Later, Ji-won plans for her future away from these two people and decides to indulge in stocks, making use of her memories. The next day, she begins her research and runs into Ji-hyeok who assumes that she is planning to quit her job for her marriage.

Ji-won does not deny this assumption as the two head for lunch as she wants to apologise for the burn he suffered due to the commotion she caused. By the end of the meal, Ji-won’s view of Ji-hyeok’s personality changes as she starts to see him as someone more than just a strict boss.

Marry My Husband Episode 1 Ending

The next day, Ji-won tries to avoid Min-hwan in every way possible during the day. Later, she recalls an incident that took place in the break room which left her with a wound on her knee. While she avoids the wound this time, her escape from Min-hwan gets her into another accident which leaves the same wound.

This makes Ji-won wonder how things are taking place and if she will be able to avoid being married to Min-hwan in this life. She soon realises that someone else has to steal her fate from her and she has the perfect target for this- Jung Su-min.
