Kwanghee Talks About How He Reacted To News Of “Infinite Challenge” Being Discontinued

Dec 26, 2018

On the December 26 broadcast of MBC’s “Radio Star,” Kwanghee appeared as a guest alongside Jung Joon Young, SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan, and rapper Haon.
Kwanghee, who recently finished his mandatory military service, talked about his reaction to hearing the “Infinite Challenge” had been canceled.
“It was a shock,” said Kwanghee. “The news came out about a year after I enlisted. I wondered if it was real. I wondered how ‘Infinite Challenge’ could disappear, and how MBC could let it happen.” Kwanghee said two days later he thought it must be a prank, but thought the prank was more elaborate than necessary.
There was a lot of talk amongst his fellow soldiers and barely concealed whispers about him as news about “Infinite Challenge” spread. Kwanghee said, “It was okay the first day, since people could be concerned, but it continued through the second day, and it was a bit uncomfortable.”
The third day, there weren’t many people still talking about it, but one of his fellow soldiers was still at it. Kwanghee said, “It was like he was making fun of me. I held it in, and I held it in. I had never raised my voice before while in the army, since I’m a celebrity. But he kept talking, so I got really mad and said, ‘Look, I’m Hwang Kwanghee! I have a lot of money! Mind your own business! I have a lot of money and a lot to do!'”
Kwanghee said he almost immediately regretted saying anything. “I think I might have been too quick to speak. All of them are still so young.”
