On January 16, movie industry insiders reported that the actress would be making her small-screen comeback with SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Secret Boutique.”
“Secret Boutique” is a female-centric drama that will portray the themes of money, power, revenge, and survival. Director Park Hyung Ki, who previously worked with Kim Sun Ah through “Scent of a Woman,” will be leading “Secret Boutique.”
Kim Sun Ah will reportedly play Jenny Jang, the owner of J-Boutique. Though she has an elegant and friendly way of speaking, she also holds fine communication skills in talking about the core of business ventures. While being involved in hidden matters, such as solving problems for the upper class, she’s also a lobbyist in the political world and a shadow ruler. She’s a complex character who holds a power-oriented mind and a unique personality. Although Jenny Jang’s boutique looks like a normal clothing and accessories store from the outside, the store is in reality the location for a small law firm that helps settle the matters of the upper class privately and connects the political world.
Jenny Jang grows up in an orphanage and leaves at the age of 18 to escape a male teacher who sexually harasses her. After securing work at a bath house in Gangnam, she becomes familiar with the Gangnam housewives as she runs errands for the women. She is later chosen by Kim Yeo Ok of Deo Company and is made to work at the beck and call of her daughter Ye Nam, thrusting her into the world of the upper class.
Kim Sun Ah’s agency revealed, “It is true that Kim Sun Ah received an offer to appear in ‘Secret Boutique.’ She is positively considering the casting offer.”
Kim Sun Ah recently starred in SBS’s “Should We Kiss First” and MBC’s “Children of Nobody.”
