Kang Mina Parts Ways With Jellyfish Entertainment + In Talks To Sign With Seo In Guk’s Agency

Kang Mina will be leaving her longtime agency Jellyfish Entertainment.

On May 15, Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed, “Our exclusive contract with Kang Mina will come to an end by the end of June. After discussions, both sides have agreed to not renew [the contract].”

Afterward, it was reported that Kang Mina is joining Story J Company, which houses actors including Seo In Guk (who starred alongside Kang Mina in “Café Minamdang”), Kim Tae Hee, Oh Yeon Seo, and more. In response, Story J Company commented, “It is true that we had a meeting with Kang Mina. We are positively discussing the matter of an exclusive contract. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.”

After ranking ninth in Mnet’s “Produce 101,” Kang Mina debuted as a member of I.O.I and later in Jellyfish Entertainment’s girl group gugudan. gugudan disbanded on December 31, 2020. Kang Mina also starred in numerous projects as an actress including “Hotel Del Luna,” “Moonshine,” “My Roommate is a Gumiho,” and “Café Minamdang.”

Currently, Kang Mina is in talks to star in “Welcome to Samdalri” (literal title), a drama that Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun are also currently in discussions to join.
