Jung So Min Is A Fierce Assassin Hidden In Someone Else’s Body In New Hong Sisters Drama “Alchemy Of Souls”

tvN’s upcoming drama “Alchemy of Souls” has shared a new sneak peek of Jung So Min in her leading role!

Helmed by “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” director Park Joon Hwa, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. The drama will tell the story of characters whose fates become twisted due to magic that swaps people’s souls.

The upcoming drama will be penned by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran), whose previous works include the hit dramas “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Master’s Sun,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and more. In addition to Jung So Min, the drama’s star-studded cast will include Lee Jae Wook, NU’EST‘s Minhyun, Oh My Girl‘s Arin, “All of Us Are Dead” star Yoo In Soo, Shin Seung Ho, Yoo Joon Sang, Oh Na Ra, and Jo Jae Yoon.

Jung So Min will star as Mu Deok Yi, who secretly harbors the soul of the great assassin Nak Soo. However, this fierce soul is stuck in an impossibly weak body that cannot keep up with Nak Soo’s powerful spirit. After becoming the attendant and secret teacher of the young master Jang Wook (played by Lee Jae Wook), she begins training him in a brutal, merciless manner.

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama highlight the inherent contrast in Jung So Min’s character: in one photo, Mu Deok Yi appears to be a helpless servant as she is led somewhere in a blindfold. However, another photo reveals her true nature, with Mu Deok Yi glaring fiercely at someone as she coolly prepares for a fight.

The producers of “Alchemy of Souls” teased, “From the humble and unsophisticated side of Mu Deok Yi, who is from the countryside, to hiding the fierce and powerful soul of an assassin and disguising herself as an ordinary servant, the character of Mu Deok Yi has a broad spectrum of different sides. Through Mu Deok Yi, Jung So Min will be able to show an entirely new face and charm that she hasn’t shown before [in her other roles].”
