Chun Woo-hee, Jeon Yeo-bin hilariously navigate work, relationships in teasers from ‘Be Melodramatic’

Jul 25, 2019

JTBC’s new romantic comedy Be Melodramatic recently released video teasers for its two main characters as well as a main poster in the run-up to its premiere this month.
Previously known as Melo Suits MeBe Melodramatic is the drama debut of writer-director Lee Byeong-hun, who was behind the hit 2015 coming-of-age movie Twenty starring Kim Woo-bin, Kang Ha-neul, and Lee Jun-ho and most recently, the 2019 action comedy flick Extreme Job starring Ryu Seung-ryong and Lee Ha-nee. The drama is loosely inspired by the first movie, but instead of 20-something college-going men, 30-something women will take center stage in its story.
One of the new poster is for Chun Woo-hee‘s (Argon) character, who plays a drama series writer with an unpredictable personality. In the teaser, she is shown oscillating from one extreme emotion to another. Sometimes, she’s full of love for her boyfriend played Ahn Jae-hong (Fight For My Way), and sometimes she is loud and accusatory as she breaks up with him several times.
Le Coup de Foudre
The second poster introduces Jeon Yeo-bin‘s character, who is a documentary filmmaker with very little patience. After several failed tries at getting someone to invest in her, she goes independent, until she meets a man who trusts in her capabilities and falls in love with him.

Meanwhile, in the main poster, the three leads—Chun Woo-hee, Jeon Yeo-bin and Han Ji-eun—strike fierce poses dressed in all black. The text on the top of the poster says, “Did you think you would be an adult at thirty?” This explains why the leading ladies are holding pink-colored toy-like props, which drop hints about their personalities and individual arcs in the show especially for Han Ji-eun, who is taking on the role of a marketing director slash single mother.

Be Melodramatic will replace Shin Min-ah’s Chief Of Staff in the Friday-Saturday 11 p.m. time slot of JTBC beginning July 26.
