Branding in Seongsu (2024) K Drama Episode 17

Mar 14, 2024

Branding in Seongsu Episode 17 picks up where the previous episode left off. Previously, Na-eon placed a great deal of pressure on the founders of HQ Motors to let her oversee their premium project. On the other hand, after Na-eon’s soul is switched with that of Eun-ho’s, he quickly backs out to the owners’ absolute surprise.

When Eun-ho, who is currently inhabiting Na-eon’s body, arrives at Na-eon’s home, she confronts him about the fact that he has not picked up her phone call. He then tells her he was puzzled after their souls were switched again. As a consequence of this, she pushes him to kiss her yet again to help with the switching of their souls to their respective bodies. At first, Eun-ho puts on a fight. However, he ends up doing it anyway. Shortly after, their souls switch into their respective bodies.

Throughout the following morning, we find Na-eon researching HQ Motors. After this, she finds out that Director Han has been developing a close relationship with the brand, and as a consequence, he has successfully won over their allegiance. This frustrates her quite a bit. In addition to this, we find out that Director Nam had hired somebody to follow Na-eon. After learning about this, she decided to hire him for her own personal use. He then follows Director Han and sends her pictures of him. On the other hand, she does not find the pictures to be particularly useful.

Almost immediately after that, Na-eon reads a message that was sent to her phone. In it, Eun-ho expresses his unwillingness to work for HQ Motors on her behalf after their souls were switched. Na-eon, who is attempting to get in touch with Eun-ho, is confused by this information. On the other hand, just as she is about to make contact with Eun-ho, their souls switch places once more, followed by a headache.

Following that, we see Na-eon at the motel, with the underground team, now inhabiting Eun-ho’s body. They help her after noticing that she is struggling with a headache. After this, she helps the team by winning over the proprietor of the motel by acknowledging that she does not wish to rebrand the motel. After that, Na-eon suggests that they market their services as a motel with a retro vibe, which greatly impresses the proprietors of the property. After this, Na-eon, who is currently inhabiting Eun-ho’s body, tells the team that she has faith in their ability to oversee the project, and then she leaves.

After leaving the motel, Na-eon reads a message on Eun-ho’s phone, wherein it’s clear that he’s in contact with Director Han. At this point, the director extends an invitation to Eun-ho to become a member of his team. As a consequence, Na-eon is under the impression that Eun-ho is not being truthful. Then, to clarify the situation, she calls him, but they both swap their souls and return to their original bodies.

Following this, Na-eon is at a flower shop, receiving flowers on Eun-ho’s behalf. The fact that he purchased the flowers to offer them to someone he was unable to save is revealed to us. When Na-eon confronts Eun-ho about things, he doesn’t answer her questions and leaves her confused. Another thing that Na-eon finds out is that while Eun-ho was in her body, he took a break from work on her behalf.

In the final moments of the episode, we catch a glimpse of Eun-ho, who does not appear to be the same person he used to be. The episode comes to a close with him being spotted walking in the direction of a temple.

The Episode Review

Na-eon and Eun-ho swap souls multiple times throughout episode seventeen, and each time, Na-eon finds Eun-ho to be more suspicious than the previous time. During this episode, we witness a significant shift in Eun-ho’s behavior, and he does not appear to be the same person. Eun-ho rejects working with HQ Motors and takes a break from work on Na-eon’s behalf, while his soul is in her body.

If I’m being completely truthful, this episode is a complete and utter mess, and it presents a lot of issues. At this point, it appears like the supernatural component is becoming increasingly strange, and not in a good way. The supernatural plotline does not work for the storyline of the show, and the fact that it is being overdone to such an extreme degree has unquestionably affected the storyline incorporated into this episode. Given that this ongoing exchange of souls has become somewhat odd and frustrating, we hope the ending will make the journey worthwhile.

Given that the show is approaching its final episode quickly, it’ll be interesting to see if the show gets any better moving forward.
