“Artificial City” Ratings Drop For 2nd Episode + “School 2021” Sees Slight Rise

TV Chosun’s wildly popular audition program “Tomorrow’s National Singer” continues to dominate Thursday nights!

On December 9, JTBC’s new drama “Artificial City” saw a decline in viewership for its second episode. The new mystery thriller starring Soo Ae and Kim Kang Woo seems to have been impacted by the immense popularity of “Tomorrow’s National Singer,” which airs in an overlapping time slot on Thursdays (and scored an impressive average nationwide rating of 15.3 percent for the first half of its broadcast).

Despite getting off to a relatively promising start the night before (when it premiered to an average rating of 3.6 percent), “Artificial City” fell to an average nationwide rating of 2.6 percent for its second episode.

tvN’s “Melancholia,” which airs at the same time as “Artificial City,” similarly dropped to an average nationwide rating of 2.2 percent for its latest episode.

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV’s “School 2021” saw a slight rise in viewership for its own latest episode, which scored an average nationwide rating of 1.7 percent.
