The previous episodes of “A Good Day to Be a Dog” had a lot of ups and downs that left us hanging on the possible difficulties Jin Seo Won (Cha Eun Woo) and Han Hae Na (Park Gyu Young) would have to face in episode 7. And as many feared, troubles started to show themselves in more than one way for the main couple. Though episode 7 had a lot of frustration on the horizon, it also had the little rainbows before the storm, which is a great relief for fans of this couple. Without further ado, here’s a recap on the most frustrating moments from episode 7 as well as the best and happiest moment.

Warning: spoilers from episode 7 below!

1. Frustrating: Jin Seo Won having to confront his bully from high school

As if things aren’t hard enough for Jin Seo Won, who still can’t figure out how to confess his feelings for Han Hae Na, he recently faced a serious case of bullying among his students. And now, he has to face none other than Kang Eun Hwan (Kim Min Seok), his former bully, who contacts him again and clearly hasn’t changed one bit since his high school years. This tense encounter gets even more stressful seeing that Han Hae Na is close to turning into a dog right before their eyes. With her time running out, she is getting ready to declare both her feelings and the fact that she needs Seo Won to kiss her as a dog before turning into one forever.

Luckily, she is able to escape, although her belongings are gone by the next morning. This only leads us to believe that they have been stolen by the worst possible person, something that is confirmed later on as Kang Eun Hwan goes to Han Hae Na and Jin Seo Won’s high school looking for her. He is clearly up to no good, and as Seo Won confronts him again, reminding him to stay away from him and Hae Na, things only seem even more appealing for this man.

2. Frustrating: Jin Seo Won’s bully Kang Eun Hwan setting a trap for Han Hae Na

As much as it’d be nice to see more of the romance in this episode, we get to see how, sadly, Kang Eun Hwan seems to succeed in setting a trap to expose Hae Na’s curse of how she turns into a dog to the world. If you are wondering how he gets to know about the curse in the first place, it is all thanks to the infamous ex-boyfriend of Hae Na’s sister, the very man who saw Hae Na and Seo Won during their school trip.

Kang Eun Hwan starts to lurk around Hae Na and her family in order to find more solid proof that they are cursed and turn into dogs whenever they kiss someone. Not happy only with this, he sets a hidden camera in Hae Na’s friend’s veterinary clinic. As they remember the sad story of Hae Na’s sister and also find out what exactly happened to her, he finally obtains the information he needs and decides to team up with the ex-boyfriend in order to blackmail Hae Na.

3. Frustrating: Han Hae Na missing her chance to confess everything to Jin Seo Won

Amidst all of this, Hae Na’s mother appears in front of her daughter’s house, deciding to know which one of her crazy children has kissed a man and is turning into a dog. As chaotically funny as it is, both sisters have to come up with a quick way out of that mess, since their mother demands Hae Na to introduce her boyfriend to her. Although the easiest solution could have been to ask Seo Won for help, as Hae Na hasn’t revealed everything to him, her sister decides to call out Choi Yul (Yoon Hyun Soo) again for help.

After this messed up situation, which ends up with Hae Na revealing the truth to her mother, she is granted another chance to confess to Seo Won. But she masterfully lets this pass yet again, getting a little too drunk to finally let the truth out. However, since Jin Seo Won is clearly the perfect boyfriend material, he acts in a swoon-worthy way when he assures her that whatever her reasons to hesitate are, he is fine with them and tells her that no matter what color she turns into, she will be beautiful.

4. Happy: Han Hae Na and Jin Seo Won celebrating his birthday

Not everything is terribly stressful and infuriating in this episode. If there is something that this episode gifts us with, it is Jin Seo Won’s birthday celebration. Blissfully unaware of the problem that approaches them, the trio—Han Hae Na, Jin Seo Won, and Choi Yul—takes the time to play, take cute photos together, and celebrate as is due. The best part of this? Definitely seeing Jin Seo Won, once again, being lovestruck by Han Hae Na as well as the funny looks he gives to his nephew’s clothing.

However sorry one might feel for Yul being the third wheel, it is also quite funny watching him falling into despair as our unofficial couple enjoy themselves on another unofficial date. One can only hope that Yul’s incipient feelings for Hae Na pass and don’t represent a problem for him in the future. Since it is clear that a lot of trouble is going to happen in the next episode, let’s all rejoice in this happy moment for as long as we can and get ready for the next episode of “A Good Day to Be a Dog.”
