“The Outlaws 2” (“The Roundup”) Becomes 1st Film Since 2019 To Surpass 10 Million Moviegoers

Jun 11, 2022

“The Outlaws 2” (“The Roundup”) is continuing its impressive streak!

According to the Korean Film Council, “The Outlaws 2” officially surpassed 10 million moviegoers on June 11 at 1:50 p.m. KST – just 25 days after its release on May 18.

Not only is “The Outlaws 2” the first film to reach the milestone since 2019, but it is also the 28th movie in Korean box office history and the 20th Korean movie to surpass 10 million moviegoers. In addition, this is Ma Dong Seok‘s fourth movie (after “Train to Busan,” “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds,” and “Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days”) to reach the milestone.

It also managed to hit the 10 million mark even faster than the award-winning movie “Parasite”—the last film to surpass 10 million moviegoers – which was released before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sequel to the popular 2017 action film “The Outlaws,” “The Outlaws 2” follows the exciting adventures of legendary detective Ma Seok Do and his police station’s violent crimes squad as they chase down a powerful new villain (played by Son Suk Ku).

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “The Outlaws 2” on their amazing achievement!
