It’s an awkward moment between Gye-hoon and Da-hyun as they come out fresh from their crying session and she tells her mother that nothing is going on between her and Gye-hoon and that they’ve just held hands with each other. Totally normal.

Link: Eat Love Kill episode 6 starts off funnily enough, with Da-hyun mentioning that she wants to die of embarrassment and him commenting that she’s just like her mother. I like watching their relationship blossoming as he refuses to acknowledge that he was crying and in turn tells her that he can feel her emotions.

Da-hyun is confused, because, obviously. He tries to explain himself, but it just gets worse the more he talks about it. Confused, she asks him why but he has no idea either. She starts to tease him and they start laughing, only for her to tell him to guess what emotion she is feeling.

The fun and games, however, run out the door when they start staring at each other and her heart starts fluttering for him. He, obviously, feels those emotions as well and they both start to think about what they should do.

The next day, unfortunately, they are back to being cold with each other… well, at least Gye-hoon acts very cold towards Da-hyun, which confuses the latter. She asks him what happened that he’s behaving like this with her and he retorts that he doesn’t want to bond or get close to her in any capacity.

Jin-hoo later reminds him that he was being very mean to Da-hyun after promising that he didn’t hear anything. Gye-hoon retorts that he hates feeling her feelings. Meanwhile, Eun-jung thinks about Da-hyun’s fridge comment from earlier proving that she also heard the comment about her being afraid of Jin-geun.

As the townspeople continue to act very suspicious, Gye-hoon picks up a missing girl who brings back some very real trauma for him. As he takes her to the police, a suspicious man gives him weird looks, which doesn’t bode well for our story.

As he waits at the intersection, he starts to panic as he feels Da-hyun’s panic and runs back to the restaurant to find her. As he sees her with a hooded figure, he tries to beat him up but realises that it’s Won-tak offering her self-defence lessons. He asks her to get back to work, much to Won-tak’s annoyance and then tells his colleagues that they will have a soft opening that month.

That night, after closing the restaurant, Gye-hoon walks to the subway station with Eun-jung and on the way they spot news broadcast on the TV about finding a missing body somewhere. They both look intently at the TV, wondering whether it’s Jin-geun but for entirely different reasons. They both visibly relax when it turns out to be the body of a woman, but Eun-jung asks him to walk on without her.

Meanwhile, Da-hyun senses danger as she comes back home that night. As her mother goes searching for her, she finds Da-hyun being followed by Eun-jung. Bok-hee goes after them both and then pulls her away just as Eun-jung is about to catch up to her daughter. A physical fight ensues that Chun-ok breaks up but not before threatening to bury her if she doesn’t leave their family alone.

Da-hyun, on the other hand, rushes home to an empty house and her laptop getting notifications on Instagram (or… Stagram). She is shocked to find the messages from Jin-geun and rushes off to find her family. At the restaurant, Gye-hoon feels Da-hyun’s desperation as she runs around her home and they opt to look for her family together.

Funnily enough, Bok-hee and Chun-ok have been caught with their tools in hand again by the police who admonish them for doing this again and again. She later tells them about Jin-geun, whom we see getting treated for a concussion at a hospital and obsessively texting her.

However, her family thanks god and they sob thinking Da-hyun didn’t kill anyone and can live her life without any problems. Poor Gye-hoon starts crying too but Chun-ok and Bok-hee thank him for staying back and looking for them.

Da-hyun thanks him as well but tells him that she doesn’t want to get closer to him anymore, thinking back to what Jin-geun had said about hurting her friends and family, but using the excuse that he had used in the morning.

Gye-hoon looks sad and Da-hyun thinks back to the revelation that Eun-jung is Jin-geun’s sister and what she had said about taking revenge for her brother. She turns on Jin-geun’s phone that she had totally forgotten about and immediately gets a call. She picks up but doesn’t reply and immediately disconnects.

Gye-hoon invites a scared Da-hyun to cook with him in order to clear her head but they are surprised to find Eun-jung waiting for her. Asking to speak to her privately, she shares how her brother disappeared one fine day without a trace and pleads with her to help her find him.

As they are having this conversation, Jin-geun stalks Gye-hoon and finally shows himself to him. He speaks nonsensically even though Gye-hoon asks him to leave repeatedly and even mentions that his girlfriend lives across from the restaurant.

Gye-hoon is clearly uncomfortable with the entire situation and Jin-geun doesn’t let the conversation get too far and leaves, before commenting about the now-discarded freezer. On the other hand, Da-hyun assures Eun-jung that her brother is still alive and promises to tell her everything once he comes back.

After Jin-geun leaves, Gye-hoon takes a minute to put two and two together and rushes out when he realises who the mysterious man is. He immediately calls Da-hyun to tell her to stay safe but it’s too late as Jin-geun comes face to face with her in a dark alley.

As Gye-hoon runs to find Da-hyun, Jin-geun pulls out a metal rod and Da-hyun’s senses tell her to run.

What an absolutely thrilling episode! Link: Eat Love Kill episode 6 is heartwarming and thrilling in all the right ways. Gye-hoon’s backstory and the way his sister’s disappearance has affected his entire town are devastating to witness and make me feel bad for Eui-chan. It fractured not only his and his family’s life but also that of others around him. However, the way the townspeople are behaving is making me question whether they were in on the disappearance but it can also be misplaced guilt.

On the other hand, Gye-hoon and Da-hyun’s relationship is so maddening that I can’t take it. Their chemistry is excellent and although they try to push each other away all the time, their sexual tension is infectious.

Coming to Jin-geun’s sudden reappearance, I liked how they didn’t ease us into him coming back into Da-hyun’s life. The day we get to know that he’s alive is the day he shows up at Gye-hoon’s restaurant and in front of Da-hyun and it’s absolutely amazing. I was sitting at the edge of my seat wondering what he was going to do next. Also, Shin Jae-hwi plays the role of a stalker quite proficiently. The creepy way in which he smiles and his quiet but calculative behaviour is anxiety-inducing.
