Recap Korean Drama "Adamas" Episode 15

Sep 14, 2022

Adamas episode 15 starts with Seo-hee following the doctor to his car at the hospital, the same doctor who had taken care of her after Sun tortured her. She follows him out of the building while we see Woo-sin sitting at home in a daze and then calling Su-hyeon. The latter is in that creepy building’s basement with the Tae-sung and wondering what is going on with the barrels of dead bodies.

Su-hyeon, however, is going through the different rooms of the building and finds a file named Mission Report in one of the rooms. As Tae-sung looks at Su-hyeon shocked, Hyun-jo finds out about his father’s death and breaks down while Hye-soo, not believing his tears, asks him whether he’s faking it. Hyun-jo immediately composes himself as if nothing is wrong and asks Hye-soo whether she really killed the Chairman.

The tide changes in a matter of minutes as Hye-soo forbids Hyun-jo to remove the covers over his father’s body and threatens him that if he does so, he will have to take responsibility for whatever happens next. Backed by her own bodyguards, Hye-soo looks fearless, and Hyun-jo doesn’t have many options but to leave.

As news of the chairman’s death spreads to everyone, Woo-sin finally gets a hold of Su-hyeon and tells his brother to meet him where they had met the last day. Woo-sin wonders how much his brother loved the superhero figurine, wondering whether it would break his heart to know the truth.

Meanwhile, Su-hyeon and Tae-sung discuss what to do with the Mission Report that they have found. Although it’s not admissible in court, since the statute of limitations has ended, Tae-sung mentions that they should try to find the people mentioned in the report. Meanwhile, Hyun-jo rushes over to have a meeting with the members of the management support department, but once inside the conference room, he is stunned to see that no one is there.

All of them, in turn, meet Jun-kyung and Hye-soo, and he introduces Hye-soo as the new head of Haesong. She, too, holds her own in front of all of them, and once outside the room, Jun-kyung asks Hye-soo to help him meet his one condition – he wants to kill the person who killed his brother. When Hye-soo hears Su-hyeon’s name, she is left mildly amused.

Meanwhile, Tae-sung proposes that she should go after the ARES shareholders who were previously a part of Team A and have done deplorable things. Su-hyeon doesn’t agree, though, but that thought falls flat when Seo-hee calls him and laments about her choices but, in the end, provides an excellent tip – they have found Team A’s black site, and it’s possibly a former Haesong training institute which is now abandoned.

Su-hyeon and Tae-sung fight some more about the reckless plan that the latter concocts, and, in the end, Su-hyeon successfully convinces him not to do anything stupid. In the meantime, Woo-sin gets there to talk to Su-hyeon and after discussing Chang-woo and the detectives, Woo-sin finally tells his brother that they do, indeed, have the Adamas.

When he tells him where he thinks the Adamas is hidden, Su-hyeon refuses to believe his brother because, for so long, he thought their father gave him the figurine. The initial shock makes him walk out of the car, but he coolly goes to his car to take the figurine out of the back.

Chang-woo gets there just in time, and after confirming that he did indeed deceive him, Su-hyeon smashes the figurine and finds the Adamas inside. Su-hyeon is clearly heartbroken as he cannot believe that Chang-woo would put his young boys in danger like that. Plus, the fact that so many people died over something that he had in his bedroom for so long.

Anyway, he destroys the figurine, tells Chang-woo that he doesn’t care about anything and leaves. Woo-sin talks to Chang-woo after his brother leaves and tells him that he shouldn’t have left them the toy as if it was their father’s last gift. He then tells him why he started all this in the first place – he wanted to solve his father’s murder for Su-hyeon since he always blamed himself for his death.

Now, although he won’t blame himself anymore, he’ll still be in immense pain thanks to him because he will despise him forever. Inside the building, Su-hyeon is clearly distraught and agitated at the revelation and a horrible change to his life. However, he immediately goes to Tae-sung and tells them that he found the Adamas and can make a deal with Hye-soo to get Jun-kyung out, effectively luring Team A to them.

On the other hand, as Sun tells Hyun-jo that Hye-soo saved Jum-kyung and he immediately asks her to kill her, Hye-soo attends the chairman’s funeral and then meets Woo-sin, who asks her to make a deal with him. Hye-soo agrees to it and immediately tells Jun-kyung that she’s handing the SIH and Su-hyeon over to him on a silver platter.

The two brothers have a heartwarming conversation afterwards about pain, guilt and forgiveness, and Woo-sin tells his brother that it is ok not to want to forgive Chang-woo for as long as he wants – he is allowed to do that. They both cry and laugh together about their shared tragedy and trauma as Chang-woo looks on from afar. However, there’s something going on with Woo-sin that we are not being made privy to.

As the SIH gets ready for a gunfight, Tae-sung and Su-hyeon get ready and make plans to perfect their plan and get ready to go all in order to get Team A out in the open. Unfortunately, Chief Jung already go the intel about the attack from the mole inside the team (possibly) and informs Jun-kyung, who tells him to gather all of their boys.

Things start to get real as the time comes forth for the fight to commence. However, before that, Sun makes an appearance to meet Hye-soo, and Hwang Byung-cheol holds a tell-all press conference where the journalists seem to be not bold enough to run the story against Haesong.

Meanwhile, the SIH gets ready to put an end to the drama. As they roll out, Team A gets there to finish them as well, and an all-out shooting match starts between the two teams. Obviously, the much smaller SIH team gets surrounded, and we finally see the mole in the team. As he takes Woo-sin (yes, not Su-hyeon) hostage, Chang-woo immediately gets into action to save his son and gets shot in the process.

Adamas Episode 15 Ending

With only three people left in the team and Woo-sin unable to get over the heartbreak of losing another father, Tae-sung and the other SIH member are almost sure they will lose their lives. However, Seo-hee and Hyuk-pil come to the rescue and are able to save them at the last moment. Meanwhile, Su-hyeon is off to the black site to try his luck and enter the hidden basement. At the last minute, Woo-sin has a horrible realisation – Jun-kyung wasn’t at their hideout.

At the B site, the lights go out and an unseen assailant, using night vision goggles, shoots at Su-hyeon.

Adamas Episode 15 Review

Still From Adamas Episode 15

It’s safe to say that at this point, the unnecessary moments of emotions among side characters just feel a bit much. Seo-hee going on a rant about her feelings and guilt is just such an unnecessary realisation, and it also makes me really mad to think that they really had no idea what to do with this extra character. The series, although extremely arresting, really has no idea about Seo-hee; her character simply doesn’t fit anywhere.

However, in spite of her flaws, I love Hye-soo; at least she is clear about where she stands and what she wants to do, regardless of how wrong it is. I also feel rather sad for Sun’s character, what a wasted potential.

Meanwhile, I think the best moment of this episode is Woo-sin and Su-hyeon finally talking about their past and comforting each other. It’s a human moment between the brother that we don’t really get to see much, and thus, watching them comfort each other after such a heartbreaking realisation is great. Unfortunately, I’d just really like it if Su-hyeon doesn’t try to do things on his own, if not for anything, then for my sanity.

Regardless, I enjoyed the episode except for that whole spiel about Hwang Byung-cheol; I don’t understand the point of him, and he also seems like an excessive addition that we are spending too much time on.
