tvN’s upcoming weekend drama “Twenty Five, Twenty One” has released new stills of Kim Tae Ri and Kim Hye Eun!

Set in 1998, “Twenty Five, Twenty One” is about youth who find new direction and growth after having their dreams taken away. Kim Tae Ri and Nam Joo Hyuk star as Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin, who first meet when they are 18 and 22 years old and fall in love years later when they turn 21 and 25.

Although Na Hee Do’s high school fencing team was disbanded due to the IMF crisis, she remains steadfast and passionate about her dreams. Joining her is fencing medalist and coach Yang Chan Mi (Kim Hye Eun).

New stills of the two characters reveal a private meeting between the pair. Na Hee Do kneels in front of her coach, beseeching her with a pleading look in her eyes. On the other hand, Yang Chan Mi observes her with an air of lighthearted mischief. Bending down to look at her distressed pupil, she then extends her fist towards Na Hee Do’s face, which catches her by surprise. The gesture makes drama fans curious about the connection between the pair, as well as what the coach could have said in response to Na Hee Do.

While filming the scene, the pair were said to have given off an air of a close coach and pupil as they sat side-by-side to trade stories, occasionally bursting into laughter. When the cameras began rolling, however, they instantly immersed themselves into their respective roles by switching up everything from their gestures to their expressions. They completed the impactful scene without a hitch, raising anticipation for their continued on-screen synergy.

Production company Hwa & Dam Pictures commented, “Thanks to their strong acting skills, Kim Tae Ri and Kim Hye Eun are the embodiment of a collaboration you can count on. We ask that you show plenty of interest in their explosive synergy as fencing coach and student.”

“Twenty Five, Twenty One” premieres on February 12 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
