MBC’s upcoming drama “Bitter Sweet Hell” has released character posters of Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hye Young, Kim Nam Hee, and Yeonwoo!

“Bitter Sweet Hell” is a new black comedy starring Kim Hee Sun as Noh Young Won, the top family psychiatrist in all of Korea. When an anonymous blackmailer puts Young Won’s career and family at risk, she teams up with her mother-in-law Hong Sa Gang (Lee Hye Young), a mystery novelist, to protect their family. The drama is a collaboration between writer Nam Ji Yeon of “So I Married the Anti-Fan” and producing director Lee Dong Hyun, who helmed “Doctor Lawyer” and “She Knows Everything.”

The newly released character posters capture the main characters of “Bitter Sweet Hell” in clear view, with two blurry, out-of-focus versions of themselves behind them, each sporting a different facial expression.

The first poster depicts Noh Young Won, Korea’s most famous family counselor, who is loved by the general public. She has a shocked and confused expression on her face, as if she is surprised by the threat to her perfect family.

Shown in a blur behind her are another Noh Young Won, who is looking straight ahead with a strong and determined expression, and a third Noh Young Won, who is in despair with her head bowed down. The poster’s caption reads, “Do we really have to know everything about each other in order to be family?”

The next poster captures Hong Sa Gang, a mystery novel writer and Noh Young Won’s mother-in-law. Behind her are two blurry, contrasting images of herself: one who is staring straight ahead with a piercing gaze and another who is seemingly lost in thought.

Another poster shows Noh Young Won’s husband, Choi Jae Jin (Kim Nam Hee), a renowned plastic surgeon who has never truly lived for himself. His wavering eyes reflect his anxiety and inner turmoil. The declaration, “I’m not going to live as a fake Choi Jae Jin anymore,” hints at his desire for freedom. The contrasting images of Choi Jae Jin—one filled with frustration and sadness, and the other with a forced smile—further emphasize his internal conflict and raise questions about his true identity.

The last poster depicts Lee Se Na, a mysterious woman who exhibits unpredictable behavior and a wide range of charms. She easily switches between personas, from an innocent girl with a cheerful smile to a femme fatale capable of seducing anyone. The inscrutable expression on her face and the confident look in her eyes pique viewers’ curiosity about her unpredictable character and the chaos she might bring.
